I made a Haupai today and wanted something a little different for the bottom crust so came up with this. Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups hazelnut meal |
2 tablespoons organic sugar |
1/4 teaspoon earth balance vegan margarine (melted) |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350'F. 2. Combine the hazelnut meal and sugar in a medium bowl. 3. Melt the Vegan Margarine in a small pot. 4. Add the margarine to the hazelnut sugar meal and toss with a fork until well combined. 5. Press into the bottom of an 8x8 baking dish. 6. Bake for about 10-12 minutes or until the hazelnuts are golden. Cool completely and top with your favourite filling. 7. Bon Appetit! |
