I found this recipe years ago and make it every summer. A woman by the name of Aunty Maebelle from Hawaii is the creator of the recipe and its a delicious one! Pineapple combined with cabbage and carrots make this a light and sweet but tangy coleslaw that's right out of Hawaii. Read more . Its just a delicious sidedish that I hope you'll all enjoy. Ingredients:
4 cups shredded cabbage |
1/2 tsp. sugar |
1 cup crushed pineapple (drained) |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1/2 c. mayonnaise |
dash of pepper |
1 tbs. milk (mix with mayo) |
dash of paprika |
1 tbs. vinegar |
*the only time i have ever changed this recipe from the original is to add some slivered toasted almonds and some thinly sliced fresh green peppers (bell peppers). |
Directions:
1. Prep all of your vegetables and place into a large bowl. 2. Combine the remaining ingredients and pour over cabbage. 3. This is now ready to serve. Do not let it sit in a refrigerator and get soggy! |
