This is another easy family favorite which combines a nice meat loaf with a sweet-sour sauce. The recipe makes two loaves so I usually freeze one for later. This makes a great meal when paired with rice and a fresh veggie and/or a salad. Believe me, you'll like this one! Ingredients:
1 envelope brown gravy mix |
1/2 cup milk |
1 teaspoon instant minced onion |
2 slightly beaten eggs |
1 tablespoon snipped parsley |
2 teaspoons soy sauce |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 dash pepper |
1 cup soft breadcrumbs (1 1/4 slices bread) |
2 lbs lean ground beef |
1 (16 ounce) jar sweet and sour sauce |
hot cooked rice |
Directions:
1. In large mixing bowl, blend gravy mix and milk. 2. Add instant minced onion; let stand a few minutes. 3. Add eggs, parsley, soy sauce, salt and pepper; stir in bread crumbs. 4. Add ground beef; mix well. 5. Shape into two loaves; place in shallow baking pan. 6. Bake in 350 degree oven for 50 minutes. 7. Spoon off excess fat. 8. Pour a little sweet-sour sauce over loaves. 9. Return to oven for 15 minutes. 10. Heat remaining sauce to serve with rice. |
