The best creamy, cheesy southern homemade macaroni ever! Dedicated to Hattie Jo Davis! Ingredients:
12 ounces elbow macaroni |
3 tablespoons butter |
2 1/2-3 tablespoons flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
pepper |
3 cups milk |
3 cups sharp cheddar cheese |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in pan, mix flour, salt and pepper. Add to melted butter, pour in milk. Cook and stir until thick and bubbly. Add 1 1/2C cheese until melted. Put 1/2 Mac in casserole dish. Pour 1/2 cheese sauce and repeat layers, top with remaining cheese. Bake uncovered at 350* for 30 minutes. |
