Hatfields & Mccoys Buttermilk Pie

You may want to use foil or piecrust shields to keep the edges from over-browning. From the kitchen of Derrell Gardner, Saint Louis MO.
Ingredients:
1/2 cup margarine
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons flour
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
3 tablespoons vanilla
Directions:
1. Melt margarine, granulated sugar and brown sugar together, stirring constantly until hot.
2. Mix flour into butter/sugar mixture.
3. Whip eggs into hot mixture one at a time.
4. Mix in buttermilk and vanilla gradually.
5. Pour into 9 unbaked piecrust; sprinkle with nutmeg.
6. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes; reduce heat to 375 degrees and continue to bake for 35 minutes.
