This is a recipe that has been passed down from generation to generation - my grandmother and mother, and now me - this makes light and creamy pies, and everyone will look forward to the pumpkin pies that will always appear during the holiday season!! ENJOY!!
Ingredients:
3/4 cup brown sugar, lightly packed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ginger
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 1/2 cups pumpkin (york)
1 1/2 cups light cream
1 (9 inch) deep dish pie shells
Directions:
1. Mix together brown sugar and seasonings. Stir in remaining filling ingredients and beat until smooth. Pour into shell.
2. Bake at 450F for 10 minutes. Lower temperature to 350F and bake for a further 40-45 minutes.
