Beets are not a popular vegetable but, when I was introduced to this dish I was hooked. You can adapt canned juliened or sliced beets if you are in a hurry, Ingredients:
12 small beets cooked and cut in slices, cubes or fancy |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/4 cup vinegar |
1/2 tbsp cornstarch |
2 tbsp butter |
Directions:
1. Pre-cook beets until tender. 2. Mix sugar and cornstarch in a medium pot. 3. Add vinegar and water and boil 5 mintes. 4. Add beets to hot sauce and let stand for at least 30 minutes. 5. Just before serving bring to a boiling point and add butter |
