The Old Farmer's Almanac Colonial Cookbook, edited by Clarissa M. Silitch. Not sure how many it will serve.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup quick rolled oats
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup sifted flour
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 1/2 cups buttermilk
1 tbs sugar
butter
molasses sauce
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup molasses
Directions:
1. Mix oats with buttermilk and let stand 10 minutes. Then add other ingredients, mixing well. Let stand to blend for a few minutes. If batter is too thick, add more milk; if too thin, add flour. Grease the griddle. Fry cakes in butter over low heat on both sides. Serve with molasses sauce.

3. Cream the butter and molasses, heat, and serve over oatmeal pancakes with ham, bacon, or crisp salt pork.
