HAPPY FROSTED BROWNIES DATED 1966 This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Neeley Estate in Waxahachie, Texas in 1994. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons canola oil |
2 tablespoons evaporated skim milk |
1 cup fruit |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 cup barley flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon sea salt |
3 tablespoons cocoa |
frosting |
2 cups confectioners' sugar |
1/2 cup butter softened |
2 tablespoons almond extract |
Directions:
1. Combine oil and milk in medium bowl. 2. Add fruit then blend well with mixer and beat in egg and vanilla. 3. Sift flour into a small bowl then sift again together with remaining dry ingredients. 4. Fold into chocolate mixture stirring as little as possible until blended. 5. Pour into greased square pan and bake at 350 for 20 minutes then cool completely. 6. Combine confectioners’ sugar, butter and extract until well blended then spread on brownies. |
