This quick and easy apple cake recipe came from my paternal grandmother, Gladys, and it's the only one I will eat or bake. It doesn't need frosting but a cream cheese frosting on it is magnificent. Ingredients:
4 cooking apples, cut up |
1 cup sugar (i normally use 1/2 to 3/4 cup and splenda works well, also) |
1 cup flour, sifted |
1 tsp baking soda |
1 tsp cinnamon |
1 egg |
4 tbsp oil |
dash of salt |
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients well in a large bowl and put in a greased pan. The batter will be thick and might look a bit on the dry side but if the apples are juicy, the cake will be very moist. 2. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes. |
