From really old cookbook. Old way of doing sandwiches in hot dog buns. They used to freeze these and pull them out as needed. You can grind filling in a food processor. Ingredients:
2 cups ham, diced (recipe says you can use chicken) |
2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded |
1/2 cup onion |
1 tablespoon pickle relish |
7 tablespoons mayonnaise |
12 hot dog buns |
Directions:
1. Grind ham, cheese, onion, and pickle. 2. Add enough mayonnaise to moisten, and some pickle juice. 3. Spread on buns put under broiler until cheese starts to bubble, 5 minutes. 4. I have seen these wrapped in foil paper and baked. They freeze these and bake them; recipe said 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 50 minutes or until cheese melts. |
