This recipe comes from a little book called ABC Jiffy Cookery. I've had it for over 50 years. I haven't cooked any of the recipes yet. I'm putting them here so I can find them easier. Ingredients:
2 lbs round steaks, ground |
1/4 cup butter |
salt and pepper |
bahamian mustard |
sherry wine |
Directions:
1. Form patties of the hamburger, using 1/3 pound to each patty. Heat butter in a frying pan until it is golden brown. Fry the hamburgers until well-browned on a very hot fire, applying salt, pepper and a liberal coating of Bahamian mustard to the exposed raw side of the hamburgers. 2. Turn over, and pour a little sherry over each hamburger. Sherry will trickle down and mix with the browned butter to make a delicious gravy. Cook about 5 minutes and serve immediately. |
