We love this recipe. Ingredients are always in the cupboard. Easy to make. The recipe calls for ground beef and reg sour cream. Got it from the American Century Cookbook. Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter |
2 lbs ground turkey |
1 teaspoon lawry's seasoned salt |
1 teaspoon garlic salt |
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste) |
1/4 teaspoon ground pepper (or to taste) |
1 medium yellow onion, peeled and chopped |
1/2 medium green pepper, cored seeded and chopped |
10 medium mushrooms, sliced |
2 celery ribs, trimmed and chopped |
1 1/2 cups crushed tomatoes |
1 cup light sour cream |
1/2 lb wild rice, cooked by package directions |
Directions:
1. 1. Melt butter in a large skillet over moderate heat. Add ground turkey and all the seasonings. Cook until browned breaking up large clumps. - about 10 minute. 2. 2. Add all the produce until onion is limp and golden about 3-5 minute. 3. 3. Mix in tomatoes, adjust heat so mixture bubbles gently, cover and simmer about 20 minute. 4. 4. Smooth in sour cream and bring just to serving temperature Do not boil or cream may curdle. Taste for salt and pepper and adjust as needed. 5. 5. Serve over rice and ENJOY! |
