Such a great comfort food and one of the most simplest to make of all hamburger soups. Recipe has been in my family for well beyound 50-60 years. Enjoy! Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef |
3 -4 celery ribs |
1 medium onion |
3 -4 medium potatoes (peeled) |
2 tablespoons salt |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon allspice |
1 (14 1/2 ounce) can tomatoes (crushed) |
Directions:
1. Brown meat and onion. 2. Dice vegetables and add to meat along with tomatoes in a soup pot. 3. Add remaining seasonings. 4. Add 3 cans of water. 5. Boil for 2 hours. 6. Add more water as needed. 7. When soup is done, use potato masher to mash soup to a nice thick consistency. |
