Ham & Vegetable Stew

Another great way to use up that leftover ham. Simple & satisfying.
Ingredients:
4 cups water
1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes (undrained)
3 cups cabbage (shredded)
2 cups cooked ham (diced)
3 carrots (sliced)
1 1/2 cups celery (chopped)
3/4 cup onion (chopped)
1/2 cup bell pepper (chopped)
1 (16 ounce) can beans, of, your, choice (drained)
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons dried basil
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 bay leaves
Directions:
1. In large soup kettle, combine all ingredients.
2. Bring to a boil.
3. Reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1-1/4 hours.
4. Discard bay leaves and serve hot (Add cooked pasta, if you wish).
