Ingredients:
1 (7-ounce) package spaghetti |
1/4 cup finely chopped onion |
1/2 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced |
1/4 cup butter or margarine |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt |
2 cups milk |
2 cups half-and-half |
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese, divided |
2 cups diced, cooked ham |
1/2 cup fine dry breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain and set aside. 2. Sauté onion and mushrooms in butter until tender. Add flour, salt, pepper, and garlic salt; stir well. Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly. Gradually add milk and half-and-half; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened and bubbly. Set aside. 3. Toss spaghetti with 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese. Spoon spaghetti mixture into a lightly greased 2 1/2-quart shallow baking dish. Pour a layer of sauce mixture over spaghetti. Add 1 cup ham; repeat layers, ending with a layer of sauce. Sprinkle remaining Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs over top. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes. |
