My kids BEFORE puberty would come back for seconds:). My EX, a picky eater, would too.
Ingredients:
8 medium potatoes, peeled & cut into bite size chunks
4 ribs celery, sliced
4 large carrots, sliced or bag of baby carrots
2 cupes cubed ham
1 can cream corn
1 tbsp butter or margarine
2 cups milk
2 tbsp flour
2 cups grated cheese (more if desired)
Directions:
1. Peel, wash & cut potatoes
2. wash & cut celery
3. wash & cut carrots
4. Put potatoes, celery & carrots into a large pot with about an inch over water over the top of them.
5. Cook until potatoes are barely fork tender.
6. Drain all but about an inch of water.
7. Add ham. cream corn & cheese sauce.
8. Stir
9. Simmer about 15 minutes or until veggies are fully cooked.
10. Cheese Sauce
11. melt butter or margarine in large pot
12. add flour & stir until consistency of shortbread dough
13. add milk & stir until smooth, removing all clumps of flour
14. add cheese & stir until melted.
