These are yummy and easier, because the meatballs cook right in the sauce...no frying! These freeze very well. Prep time is approximate. Ingredients:
1 lb ground ham |
1 lb ground round |
1 lb ground lean pork |
2 cups soft breadcrumbs |
1 cup milk |
2 eggs |
2 cups brown sugar, packed |
1 cup vinegar |
2 teaspoons dry mustard |
1 cup water |
Directions:
1. Make the sauce by mixing all sauce ingredients. 2. Cook just until it gets bubbly, stirring occasionally. 3. To make the ham balls, mix all ham ball ingredients together. 4. Form into balls the size of a walnut. 5. Drop meat balls into sauce and cook slowly for 1 hour. 6. These freeze well. |
