I made this one morning when I was hungry but didn't have a lot of food. You can use any type of bread but light rye is my favorite. Ingredients:
2 slices light rye bread |
2 eggs (any style but scrambled works best, in my opinion) |
1 slice cheddar cheese |
1 slice black forest ham (honey ham works as well) |
margarine (or vegetable oil, it doesn't matter) |
Directions:
1. Fry your eggs on medium-high heat. Cook them scrambled or sunny-side-up. 2. When eggs are done, place them on the bread. 3. Put on the ham and cheese. 4. Put the bread together to form a sandwich. 5. Melt the butter in a sauce pan. 6. Place the assembled sandwich into the pan. 7. Cook it like it's grilled cheese! 8. Plate and serve. 9. **If serving young children, cut the sandwich in two so the pieces are easier for small hands. |
