Ingredients:
1/8 teaspoon(s) (to 1/4) cayenne pepper |
2 tablespoon(s) all-purpose flour |
2 tablespoon(s) butter or margarine |
1/4 cup(s) chopped onion |
1 can(s) cream-style corn |
2 cup(s) cubed cooked potatoes |
1-1/2 cup(s) fresh or frozen corn |
3/4 teaspoon(s) fresh thyme (or 1/4 tsp. dried) |
2 cup(s) fully cooked ham |
1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and chopped |
3 cup(s) milk |
1/8 teaspoon(s) salt |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, saute the onion and jalapeno pepper in butter until vegetables are tender. Stir in the flour until blended. Gradually add milk. Bring to a boil ; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. Stir in the ham, potatoes, corn, cream-style corn, thyme, pepper and salt. Bring to a boil (this takes longer than you might expect). Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 10 minutes or until heated through. |
