1 cup celery, chopped |
1 cup carrots, chopped or sliced |
1/2 cup onion, finely chopped |
4 medium potatoes, cubed |
1 stick margarine |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
4 cups milk |
16 ounces cheddar cheese, grated |
2 – 3 cups baked ham, diced |
Directions:
1. Cook vegetables in 3 cups salted water until tender. Make a white sauce of the margarine, flour and milk. Cook until thickened and add the grated cheese. When cheese is melted, add to the vegetables with their liquid. Add diced ham. Do not boil, but simmer until serving time. |
