An easy to make appetizer that is also a crowd pleaser. Both variations are popular. Ingredients:
4 -6 slices deli ham |
1 (10 ounce) can prepared pizza crust |
1 cup swiss cheese, shredded |
2 teaspoons basil leaves, finely chopped (or parsley) |
honey mustard |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. 3. Place wax paper on a clean work surface and open pizza crust onto the paper. 4. Beginning at the center, roll dough out evenly in all directions to make a 14 x 12 inch rectangle. 5. Sprinkle dough with cheese and basil (or parsley). 6. Lay ham slices over cheese, end to end. 7. Roll up dough tightly, beginning at a long end. 8. Press seam to close. 9. Pinch ends together to seal. 10. Lay roll on foil-lined sheet, seam side down. 11. Bake 20 to 25 minutes until browned. 12. Cool 5 minutes and cut into 1/2 to 3/4 inch slices,. 13. Serve with honey mustard on the side. 14. Note: For a recipe variation, use smoked ham and substitute Jalapeno-Jack cheese instead of the Swiss and cilantro instead of the basil. Serve with salsa on the side. |
