Ham and Bean Soup, with tomatoes, onions, and garlic, made in the crockpot. Ingredients:
1 lb. kidney beans |
2 lb. ham hocks |
30 oz. canned tomatoes |
1 large onion, diced |
2 quarts water |
3 tsp. garlic, minced |
1 tsp. black pepper |
Directions:
1. In crockpot, soak 1 pkg of 15-bean soup overnight. 2. Drain water, add new water to cover beans. 3. Add ham hocks, diced onions, tomatoes, garlic, and pepper. 4. Cook on low 8 - 10 hours. 5. When meat on ham hocks is tender, after 4+ hours, take them out and cut ham from bone into small pieces. Return ham to soup. 6. Enjoy! |
