This one is older and I thought some people would like it. - From: D'SCHWAEBISCH' KUCHE' by Aegidius Kolb and Leonhard Lidel, Allgaeuer Zeitungsverlag, Kempten. 1976.
Ingredients:
1 pound - generous oatmeal , or wheat flour
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon water
3 tablespoons lard
1 dash salt
Directions:
1. From grandmother's more thrifty times; rarely encountered today.
2. In a skillet, brown the oatmeal a bit.
3. Then add water and salt.
4. In a cast iron skillet, pan fry the resulting thick dough in the lard, tearing it into pieces in the process.
