A perfect side dish for Carne Guisada. These are the Puerto Rican version of beans. Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1/4 cup tomato sauce |
2 tablespoons sofrito sauce |
1 (.18 ounce) packet sazon seasoning |
1/4 teaspoon black pepper |
2 cups cooked pinto beans, drained |
1 1/2 cups water |
salt to taste |
Directions:
1. Heat oil in a saucepan over low heat. Add tomato sauce, sofrito, sazon, and pepper. Cook, stirring for about 3 minutes. Stir in beans, water, and salt. Increase heat to medium, and cook for 15 minutes, or until sauce has thickened. |
