Another cake from the recipe box of my husband's mother. Ingredients:
2 cups sugar |
1 cup butter |
3 eggs |
1 1/3 cups milk |
3 1/2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla |
1 lb gumdrop |
Directions:
1. Cream the butter and sugar together, then mix in the eggs and vanilla. 2. Sift the flour and salt together and then add to the egg mixture alternately with the milk. 3. Stir in the gumdrops and then pour into a round, greased pan. 4. Bake at 350 F for two hours. 5. Place brown paper over the cake for the last 1/2 hour. |
