From Classic Scandinavian Cooking by Nika. Ingredients:
2 cups yellow split peas |
1 quart chicken stock |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 lb bacon, chopped |
1 stalk celery, chopped |
3 medium leeks, chopped |
3 medium carrots, chopped |
3 medium potatoes, chopped |
1 large onion, chopped |
1 lb canadian bacon, chopped |
4 ounces vienna sausages, chopped (optional) |
salt and pepper, to taste |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients and simmer for 1 hour. 2. Serve. |
