GUINNESS STEW IN THE CROCK POT This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Dawson Estate in Fort Worth, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
2-1/2 pounds lean stew beef |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder |
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper |
1 large white onion halved and sliced |
1 bottle stout beer |
2 cups baby carrots |
1 teaspoon dried rosemary leaves |
2 bay leaves |
1/4 cup cornstarch |
1/2 cup water |
Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients except cornstarch and water in a crock pot and cook on low for 8 hours. 2. Combine cornstarch and water in a bowl and stir into stew. 3. Cover crock pot and allow stew to cook an additional 10 minutes until thickened slightly. |
