Guacamole with much more oomph than usual. After I learnt and enjoyed how to do a basic guacamole recipe I started adding new elements until I had more of what I wanted. I suppose you could call it a guacamole salsa - tell me what you think? Read more ? This is Mr Debra47's first posting Ingredients:
3 medium sized ripe avocados |
1 medium size white onion |
1 medium size red onion |
1- 6 cloves of fresh garlic |
3 small bird-eye chilli peppers |
a large bunch of chopped cilantro or coriander leaves |
3 tablespoons of lime juice |
1 tablespoon of lemon juice |
1/2 teaspoon of salt |
1/2 teaspoon of cracked black pepper |
Directions:
1. As each item is prepared, place all contents in a suitable plastic container or in your food processor/blender. 2. Cut avocados in half and then remove stones. 3. Fully scoop out flesh of each half and then chop roughly into 1cm/1/2 inch cubes. 4. Coursely chop both onions into small cubes. 5. Crush 1 to 6 cloves of garlic, according to taste. 6. Slice and de-seed 1-3 birds eye chillies, according to preference. 7. Finely chop a bunch of cilantro/coriander leaves. 8. Put all of the ingredients so far into a plastic container or into your blender. 9. Add the lime and lemon juice. 10. Finally add the salt and black pepper. 11. Then either mash/stir manually or using the lowest setting or burst mode on your blender until you have a semi-smooth mixture. 12. For best results, serve after 2 hours in the fridge or immediately if time is of the essence. 13. (I prefer the light use of a blender as it produces a finer texture but you can simply mash the ingredients in the plastic container if you wish.) |
