There's tons of guac recipes out there - this one has a few ingredients that a traditional guac might not, but it gets rave reviews every time I make it! Ingredients:
2 hass avocados, ripe but still firm |
1/2 red onion, diced (onions vary so much in size - maybe a half cup or so of diced onion ) |
1 serreno chili, finely diced (a jalapeno can be substituted) |
2-4 tbl fresh cilantro, leaves only, chopped (adjust to taste) |
juice of 1 lime ( a couple of tablespoons at least - adjust this to your taste - many times i just use all the juice from one lime) |
1/2 to 1 tsp salt, to taste |
1 ripe tomato, cored and seeded, then chopped into 1/4 squares |
Directions:
1. Scoop avocados into a bowl 2. Add remaining ingredients and mix until well combined, but the guac should still be chunky, not a pureed texture 3. Let sit in the fridge for 1-3 hours for flavors to blend. Remove from fridge a half hour before serving to bring up to room temperature. 4. Recipe doubles (and probably quadruples) very well. |
