On one of my many cookbook /recipe searches , I found a cookbook called Americana Cookery. I liked the name , but I loved some of the recipes in it even more. Thought I might place some of them here for safe keeping and to share Ingredients:
2 ripe medium avocados |
12 tablespoons onions, greated |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 garlic cloves, crushed |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper |
4 tablespoons canned green chilies, chopped |
Directions:
1. Peel avocados, remove seeds. 2. Chop coarsley. place in blender container. 3. Add lemon juice, onion, crushed garlic, salt, pepper, and chilies. 4. Blend until smooth. 5. Cover and chill thoroghly. 6. Serve on bed of lettuce, garnish with tomato wedges and croutons. 7. Or serve with chips. |
