Ingredients:
4 ounce(s) bacon |
vegetable oil |
2 cup(s) elbow macaroni |
1 1/2 cup(s) whole milk |
2 tablespoon(s) unsalted butter |
2 tablespoon(s) flour |
4 ounce(s) gruyere cheese grated |
3 ounce(s) cheddar cheese (extra sharp) grated |
2 ounce(s) blue cheese crumbled |
1/4 teaspoon(s) pepper |
1 pinch(s) nutmeg |
10 basil leaves |
1 cup(s) breadcrumbs |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 400 degrees 2. fry bacon - crumble when cooled 3. cook macaroni according to directions 4. in small pan heat mild (don't boil) 5. melt in butter and add flour - stir 2 minutes 6. off heat add all three cheeses, salt, pepper and nutmeg - melt 7. Add to macaroni 8. Add bacon to macaroni and cheese 9. put macaroni and cheese into individual gratins 10. chop basil and mix with breadcrumbs 11. sprinkle over top of gratins 12. bake 30-40 minutes (until browned on top) |
