Ground Turkey Meatballs -Barb Koffman

Sure to be a crowd pleaser at the camp site.
Ingredients:
1 lb ground turkey
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves
1/2 cup breadcrumbs (fine)
1/4 cup fresh parsley or 1 tablespoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic salt
1 (16 ounce) can whole tomatoes, cut up
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
1 garlic clove, minced
Directions:
1. Mix turkey, cheeses, egg, basil, bread crumbs, parsley, oregano, 1/4 teaspoons onion powder, and 1/4 teaspoons garlic powder. Shape mixer into 1 1/2-inch meatballs. Sauté in large skillet until browned and no longer pink. Or place into a greased Dutch oven. Place 10 gray coals on the top and 8 on the bottom.
2. Mix tomatoes, 1 Tablespoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon brown sugar, tomato paste, and garlic. Pour mixture over meatballs and bring to boil. Lower heat and simmer covered until sauce thickens, about 30 minutes.
3. Add salt and pepper to taste.
4. Serve over hot pasta.
