Ground Turkey Breast Chili |

A healthier alternative to regular chili. Freezes well. Ingredients:
1 large onion, chopped |
2 bell peppers, chopped |
1 hot pepper, diced |
3 cloves garlic, minced |
16 ounce ground turkey breast |
10 ounce tomatoes with green chilies |
15 ounce tomato sauce |
1 tsp ground cumin |
1/2 tbls chili powder |
1 tsp dried oregano |
1 tsp ground cinnamon |
1/2 tbls light brown sugar |
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper |
1/4 tsp fresh ground black pepper |
15 ounce black beans (rinsed and drained) |
15 ounce of whole kernel corn (rinsed and drained) |
15 ounce of fat-free, low sodium chicken broth |
6 ounce tomato paste |
1 tsp hot sauce |
Directions:
1. In a large pot, over medium heat, saute the onion, garlic, peppers and ground turkey breast until turkey is cooked. 2. Add tomatoes, spices and brown sugar and saute 5 minutes more 3. Add black beans, corn, tomato paste and chicken broth to pot. 4. Mash or puree cannellini beans and add puree to pot, stir well and simmer 10 minutes |
