I found this recipe in a book entitled Historic Virginia Inns: A Cook's Tour published 1986. It was on a bookshelf at a Victorian mansion bed & breakfast in Meyerdale, PA. This recipe was submitted by the Inn at Gristmill Square in Virginia. Ingredients:
3 tablespoons butter |
1 lb shrimp, peeled & deveined (21-25 count) |
1/4 cup bourbon |
1/4 cup heavy cream |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
Directions:
1. Melt butter in skillet. Add shrimp and saute until pink. 2. Splash shrimp with bourbon and remove to a dish to keep warm. 3. Add cream to skillet, scraping bottom; add salt. Heat over medium heat and pour sauce over shrimp. 4. Serve immediately. |
