This meal is meant to be made the day before so all you have to do is throw the brats on the grill. Nice for a relaxing social gathering. Ingredients:
6 fresh bratwursts |
2 (12 ounce) cans beer |
1 tablespoon hot sauce |
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce |
2 teaspoons ground red pepper |
1 teaspoon chili powder |
6 large hot dog buns |
sauerkraut (optional) |
pickle (optional) |
mustard (optional) |
Directions:
1. In a large saucepan, add beer, hot sauce, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper and chili powder; stir. 2. I like using a dark ale. 3. With a meat fork, poke holes in each bratwurst. 4. Bring water to boil. 5. Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes or until meat is no longer pink. 6. Keep lid on pot. 7. Chill until time to grill. 8. If grilling right away, don't over cook brats. 9. Heat grill. 10. Grill brats for 8 minutes until skin is golden. 11. Turn frequently so brats don't burn or overcook. 12. Serve with your favorite condiments- sauerkraut, pickles and mustard. |
