âThe marinade for this super-tender Asian-style beef also works well with fish, chicken and pork.â Fast and fabulous! âAgnes Ward, Stratford, Ontario Ingredients:
3 tablespoons reduced-sodium soy sauce |
4-1/2 teaspoons brown sugar |
1 tablespoon rice vinegar |
1-1/2 teaspoons minced fresh gingerroot |
1 garlic clove, minced |
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes |
1 beef top sirloin steak (1 inch thick and 1/2 pound) |
Directions:
1. In a large resealable plastic bag, combine the first six ingredients. Add the steak; seal bag and turn to coat. Refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight. 2. Drain and discard marinade. Using long-handled tongs, moisten a paper towel with cooking oil and lightly coat the grill rack. Grill beef, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 4-5 minutes on each side or until meat reaches desired doneness (for medium-rare, a meat thermometer should read 145°; medium, 160°; well-done, 170°). Yield: 2 servings. |
