Super easy recipe for grilling red and green peppers. This uses the very small peppers. I get a 'pepper pack' from Costco that has bite size peppers in green, red, orange and yellow; otherwise just get a nice assortment of small peppers. Read more . This can be prepared ahead of time, the flavor only gets better. This also adds a nice splash of color to your table. Just marinate and grill, not much harder than that. I don't measure anything when I do these, so you'll have to add seasoning to taste. I takes a few times to adjust to your personal taste. If I had to quess, I'd say I use about 2 TBs. Ingredients:
'pepper pack' or approx. 20 bite size assortment of peppers |
(green, yellow, orange,red) |
olive oil |
mccormicks 'montreal steak seasoning |
Directions:
1. Dump peppers into ziplock and pour olive oil over them all to coat well. 2. Sprinkle Steak seasoning liberally over peppers and oil 3. Zip bag to closed and shake bag like to coat all peppers evenly. 4. Now....just sit aside at room temp till ready to grill. I let mine sit most of the day when were grilling that evening. 5. BBQ: Put peppers in a grill basket and lay on grill at moderate heat. Turn a few times so the bottoms aren't burned. Approx. 20 minutes should do it. 6. OVEN: Put pepper on top of cookie sheet and put in oven at 375* for 1 hour. Take a spatula and flip and smack em around a bit. (now, didn't that feel good). You may want to cook a bit longer for them to crisp.....it's all personal taste. I do like them cooked almost crisp. |
