Grilled Jerk Shrimp With Creamy Tomatillo Sauce |

These are wonderful for your backyard parties...serve as appetizers or the main course.. These could also be done at a tailgate party. Use your favorite jerk seasoning. Another good Southern Living recipe Ingredients:
1 1/2 pounds unpeeled, large fresh shrimp |
1 tablespoon jerk seasoning (your favorite kind) |
1 can tomatillo salsa (7 oz) |
1/4 cup mayonnaise |
1/4 cup sour cream |
1 small jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced |
1/4 cup minced sweet onion |
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin |
Directions:
1. Peel shrimp, devein, if desired. 2. Place shrimp in a heavy duty zip top plastic bag; add jerk seasoning. 3. Seal and shake to coat; chill one hour. 4. Thread seasoned shrimp onto skewers. 5. Grill, covered with lid, over medium heat (350 to 400) 6. 2 minutes on each side. 7. Stir together salsa and next 5 ingredients, 8. Serve with shrimp. 9. Garnish with jalapeno slices or clintro sprigs, if desired. |
