Halloumi is a mild, firm, white Cypriot cheese made from goats' or ewes' milk, used especially in cooked dishes. These sound amazing and simple. Prep time does not include marinating time. Ingredients:
1/2 bunch cilantro |
1/2 bunch fresh italian parsley |
1 garlic clove, chopped |
1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar |
1/4 cup olive oil |
1 teaspoon lemon zest, grated |
1 lb sirloin steak, cut into 1-inch cubes |
1 lb halloumi cheese, cut into 1-inch cubes |
Directions:
1. Combine cilantro, parsley, garlic, apple cider vinegar, olive oil and lemon zest rind in a food processor; pulse for 1 minute. 2. In an airtight container, combine steak and marinade and refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours. 3. Preheat grill to high; carefully skewer alternating meat and cheese. 4. Grill 2 to 3 minutes then carefully turn, touching only the meat as you turn. Cook an additional 2 to 3 minutes, remove from heat and serve. |
