Grilled Garlic Steak Salad |

This dish belongs to my sister, Corrie whom emigrated to Canada approx 10 years ago. We (my mom, sister & myself) swop recipes on a regular base and this is one that Corrie gave me approx 4 years ago. It is now a firm and trusty dish in the family. Read more . I however omit the veggies sometimes and don't cut the meat but marinade it in the dressing. I will add then finely chopped rosemary when I fry the meat. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Ingredients:
steak salad |
1pd beef boneless sirloin steak; 1-1.5inc thick |
1 large red/yellow bellp peper cut into strips |
1 cup sliced mushroom |
1/8tsp pepper |
1/4tsp salt |
6 cups bite-sized pieces of salad greens |
spicy garlic dressing |
1/3 cup olive oil |
2tbsp chopped fresh parsley |
3tbsp red wine vinegar |
1tbsp lemon juice |
2 cloves garlic, finely chopped |
1/2tsp crushed red pepper |
Directions:
1. STEAK SALAD 2. Heat stove 3. Make spicy garlic dressing (below) & reserve 1/4 cup. 4. Cover & grill beef over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, turning once or until desired doneness. 5. Toss bell peppers & mushrooms with 2tbsp of dressing 6. Place in pan grill 7. Cover for 5minutes shaking to turn vegtable occasionally or until bell peppers are crisp but still tender 8. Sprinkle beef with salt & pepper and cut into 1/4 inch slices. 9. Toss beef in reserved 1/4 cup dressing 10. Place salad greens, vegtables & beef in large bowl. 11. Add remainig dressing & toss. 12. SPICY GARLIC DRESSING 13. Shake all the ingredients together in a tightly, covered container |
