This is a very easy grilled shrimp recipe. It originally came from a 1969 edition of Noted Cookery , a cookbook published by the Junior Group of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. It is YUMMMMY. The note on the original recipe says these are really delicately flavored, simple to prepare and always a success. The recipe is attributed to Mrs. Morris A. Galter. Ingredients:
1/2 cup oil |
1/4 cup lemon juice |
1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley or 1 tablespoon dried parsley |
minced fresh garlic clove, 3 |
1 dash cayenne pepper (to taste, i use a generous dash) |
salt and pepper, to taste |
2 lbs jumbo shrimp, raw, peeled and deveined |
Directions:
1. This needs to be prepared just before serving because it only marinates for 30 minutes, no longer. 2. Combine all marinade ingredients. Add shrimp and marinate for 30 minutes at room temperature. Do not over marinate. Place on skewers and grill for 5-7 minutes, turning once, or until pink, basting frequently with marinade. |
