After looking at all kinds of recipes for flank steak I came up with this. We like our steaks extra rare so I suggest you grill for 5 minutes on one side and after turning the meat with tongs, cook long enough to get it your way. The time to marinate is not included in cook time. Ingredients:
2 lbs flank steaks, trimmed and scored on both sides |
3/4 cup olive oil |
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce |
2 tablespoons dry mustard |
1 tablespoon black pepper, freshly ground |
1/2 cup red wine vinegar |
1/2 cup dry red wine |
2 garlic cloves, minced |
1/3 cup lemon juice, from fresh lemon |
1/4 cup cilantro, freshly chopped |
Directions:
1. Combine all marinade ingredients in a large zip lock bag (gallon size). 2. Add flank steak. Seal bag and place in casserole dish big enough to hold steak flat. Turn and shake a few times to get marinade all over meat. Refrigerate and marinate overnight, turning occasionally. 3. Remove steak from marinade, and grill on high heat for 5 minutes. Turn with tongs and grill on other side until desired doneness, about 3 minutes for rare. |
