Upgrade your boring sandwich to a classic grilled Cuban. Serve with baked chips. Ingredients:
2 tablespoons dijon mustard |
1 (8-ounce) loaf french bread, cut in half horizontally |
6 ounces reduced-fat swiss cheese, thinly sliced (such as alpine lace) |
6 ounces deli-sliced ham (such as hillshire farms) |
8 sandwich-sliced dill pickles |
cooking spray |
Directions:
1. Spread mustard evenly over cut sides of bread. Arrange half of cheese and half of ham on bottom half of loaf; top with pickle slices. Repeat layer with remaining cheese and ham; cover with top half of loaf. Cut into quarters. 2. Heat a large, heavy skillet coated with cooking spray over medium-high heat. Add sandwiches; press with a heavy skillet (such as cast iron). Cook 2 minutes on each side. |
