The loaf's so quick to make, in fact, I often grill two of them. Ingredients:
1 package (3 ounces) cream cheese, softened |
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened |
1 cup (4 ounces) shredded mozzarella cheese |
1/4 cup chopped green onions with tops |
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt |
1 loaf (1 pound) french bread, sliced |
Directions:
1. Slice a French loaf but keep all the pieces together, making slices about 1 1/2-inches thick. 2. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and butter. 3. Add cheese, onions and garlic salt; mix well. 4. Spread the cheese mixture on BOTH sides of EACH slice of bread. 5. Wrap the entire loaf in a large piece of heavy-duty foil (about 28 in. x 18 in.); seal tightly on top and at the ends. 6. Grill over medium heat for 8-10 minutes, turning once. 7. Unwrap foil; grill 5 minutes longer to crisp the bread. |
