Grilled Cheddar Tomato Sandwiches With Thyme |

I came up with this recipe while trying to give a gourmet touch to an old classic. The ground white pepper really jazzes it up and livens it. Ingredients:
2 slices whole grain wheat bread |
2 slices medium cheddar |
1/4 teaspoon dried thyme |
1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional) |
2 slices beefsteak tomatoes (preferably rose-pink heirlooms) |
1 pinch kosher salt |
1 pinch fresh ground black pepper |
1 pinch white pepper |
1/16 ounce parmigiano-reggiano cheese, grated |
1 tablespoon amish country roll butter |
Directions:
1. 2 Slices Whole Grain Wheat Bread. 2. 2 Slices Medium Cheddar Cheese. 3. 1/4 teaspoon Dried Thyme. 4. 1/8 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper(optional). 5. 2 Slices Beefsteak Tomato(preferably Rose-Pink Heirlooms). 6. Pinch Kosher Salt. 7. Pinch Freshly Ground Black Pepper. 8. Pinch Ground White Pepper. 9. About 1/16 oz. Parmigiano-Reggiano Cheese, grated. 10. 1 tablespoon Amish Country Roll Butter. |
