This is a great appetizer can be served cold or hot. Goes well with a cold beer. Ingredients:
the essence recipe |
5 t paparika |
1/4 c salt |
1/4 c garlic powder |
2 t ground pepper |
2 t onion powder |
2 t cayenne pepper |
2 t dried oregano |
2 t dried thyme |
the shrimp recipe |
uncooked raw jumbo shrimp |
the essence will cover approx. 200 shrimp. |
monterey jack cheese |
sliced jalepeno from a can |
bacon cut in half |
Directions:
1. Mix all spices together and put in a plastic container. 2. de-shell the shrimp and make a slit down the back and clean out. 3. add a thin slice of cheese and jalepeno to the back slit. 4. wrap a half slice of bacon around the shrimp and secure with toothpick. 5. add a small amount of essence to a plastic or paper bag. 6. add a few shrimp at a time to the essence, making sure they are fully coated. 7. grill 5 mins or until the bacon is fully cooked. 8. the essence can be store in the container for up to a year. |
