Asparagus doesn't need anything to make it a succulent spring treat.... but, that doesn't mean it's not fun to add just a few touches of embellishment for a little change! That's what this sauce does for the already delicious veggie. Ingredients:
2lbs fresh asparagus spears, trimmed |
1/2 stick butter, melted |
1/4 cup tequila |
1 lime(2 of they're small or not very juicy) |
3 clove garlic, minced |
plenty of fresh ground pepper |
sea or kosher salt, medium ground, if possible(i used flake, and it was a perfect finish |
Directions:
1. Combine butter, tequila, the juice from the whole lime, and the zest from half, garlic and pepper and whisk to combine. 2. Pour over asparagus in a large zipper bag, plastic container or even just on a baking sheet. 3. Toss well to coat the asparagus. 4. Grill over high heat for just a couple minutes. Asparagus doesn't take long, at all, on the grill or under the broiler. 5. Sprinkle with the coarse or flaked sea salt and a lil extra zest for serving. |
