My favorite way to prepare asparagus. Tossed with the most basic of seasonings, asparagus goes from drab to fab with a few minutes spent on the grill! Ingredients:
1 bunch asparagus, woody ends trimmed and discarded |
1 tbsp. extra-virgin olive oil |
1/2 tsp salt |
1/4 tsp. fresh-cracked black pepper |
Directions:
1. Preheat grill to medium-high. Prepare asparagus; trim off the woody ends and discard. An easy way to determine where to trim, grab each end of a piece and bend the asparagus until it snaps easily. Trim off the ends of the spears where the piece snapped. 2. Place asparagus in a gallon-size Ziploc bag and pour oil, salt, and pepper into bag. Zip bag and shake gently to lightly coat asparagus. 3. Using tongs, place spears onto grill and cook about 3 minutes. Turn over when spears begin to caramelize. Grill another 3 minutes, or until spears are lightly caramelized and crisp-tender. Serve. 4. Fun fact: Did you know it is proper ettiquette to eat asparagus with your fingers? |
