Ingredients:
ice cube |
4 quarts tomatoes |
1/2 cup salt |
2 quarts onions |
1 quart vinegar |
4 cups sugar |
1 teaspoon celery seed |
2 teaspoons mustard seeds |
1 teaspoon turmeric |
Directions:
1. Gently stir salt into thin sliced tomatoes. 2. Cover with ice cubes; let stand 2 hrs; until tomatoes are crisp and cold; add onions. 3. Combine remaining ingredients and bring to a boil, boil for 10 minutes. 4. Add tomatoes and onions and bring to boiling point. 5. Pack at once in jars. 6. Process in boiling water bath for 30 minutes. |
